Prof. Stephen Ewoma Obrike is an academic and researcher specializing in Earth Sciences, particularly in hydrogeology, geophysics, and environmental geotechnics. He currently works at the Department of Geology and Mining Engineering, Nasarawa State University Keffi, Nigeria, where he contributes to the university’s research initiatives in the field of Earth Sciences as a professor of geology.

Prof. Stephen Obrike has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals focusing on groundwater quality, hydro-geochemical assessments, geophysical investigations and geotechnical evaluation of subgrade soils. Notable works include studies on engineered slope failure susceptibility modelling using high spatial resolution geospatial data, groundwater quality in areas adjoining primordial landfills in the Maastrichtian Lafia Formation, basement morphology of the middle Benue Trough, Nigeria revealed from analysis revealed from analysis of high-resolution aeromagnetic data using grid-based operator methods and hydro-geophysical assessments of groundwater potential in the Makurdi area, Middle Benue Trough, Nigeria. These studies have made significant contributions to better understand water resources, basement morphology and environmental health in the region.

According to the AD Scientific Index, Prof. Obrike is ranked among the top scientists in Nigeria and Africa in Earth Sciences and his researches recognized for its impact on the scientific community, particularly in the areas of hydrogeology and geophysical research.

In addition to academic research, Prof. Stephen Obrike serves as principal consultant to a number of Geoconsult companies in Nigeria. He is also a member of several federal government committees on geohazards and policy formulation for best practices in built environment.
