Engr. Onwusogh, James Iheaka

Engr. Onwusogh, James Iheaka is an accomplished Engineer with nearly two decades of progressive experience in drilling, workover, completions, and well intervention across West Africa. He currently serves as a Drilling and Workover Supervisor with RAEC, where he oversees complex onshore and offshore campaigns, including drilling with Rotary Steerable Systems, intelligent completions, and plug & abandonment projects in the Niger Delta. His career spans senior supervisory roles with Legacy Drilling, Tecon Oil, and Alpharetta Oil & Gas Services, where he managed hydraulic workover units (225K–600K), completions, and thru-tubing operations across Nigeria, Ghana, and Congo.
James holds a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and is presently pursuing a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, advancing his expertise in drilling optimization, reservoir management, and applied energy research. He is a certified IWCF Level 4 Well Control Supervisor, OPITO-BOSIET holder, Stuck-Pipe Prevention specialist, and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE).
He blends deep technical expertise with strong leadership, safety stewardship, and cost-effective operational execution. Beyond field operations, James is passionate about data-driven drilling optimization, contractor performance evaluation, and mentoring the next generation of engineers, while also fostering entrepreneurship and community service
