Engr. Ikenna Uzoma Ajere is a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering (Communications Engineering Option) from FUTO and an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering (Networks) from Queen Mary, University of London, United Kingdom. He is currently a PhD student.

Ikenna’s research interests are in Internet performance and cognitive networks. He has published his research outputs in international journals such as IEEE Explore and has taught courses such as Data Communications, Computer Networks & Communications, Principles of Telecommunication, and Remote Sensing Technologies to undergraduate students.

Before his current role, Ikenna worked at the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Company (NLNG), Bonny, Rivers State, as an IT Support Engineer in 2014. He also worked in Oceanic Bank, Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria in 2006 as a retail banker, where he rose to head the retail banking unit. In 2008, he was transferred to the IT headquarters of the same bank and worked as an IT Support Engineer. Ikenna is a Christian and a member of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. He is married with two children.
